Z1 - Central management project
Project leader: Prof. Dr. George C. Craig
Scientific Manager: Dr. Audine Laurian, Administrative secretary: Olena Furlan
This project is responsible for both the scientific and the financial management of W2W. The central task within scientific management is the support of the Steering Group (SG) in developing and implementing the strategy of W2W, organizing and documenting the General Assembly and the monthly SG teleconferences. The scientific manager organizes the annual W2W meetings in November, and supports the Early Career Scientists (ECS) and the Research Area coordinators in organizing their activities, e.g. the Research Area meetings in May/June/July. Scientific visits by W2W scientists abroad and of external guests to our meetings or institutes are also coordinated. Other activities include the implementation of equal opportunity, family‐friendly and diversity measures, supporting the ECS, coordinating the communication within and outside of W2W by, e.g., updating the W2W Twitter account and distributing an internal and an external newsletter to inform about the latest achievements of W2W, and organizing outreach events (e.g., at the Deutsches Museum in Munich).
The financial management activities include coordination and reporting on the budget of W2W between the three main universities (LMU, JGU, KIT), the satellite institutes (DLR, TUM, KU, UHH, UW), and the DFG. These activities are performed by the administrative secretary.
