The little group walked in the park facing the venue and took part in the guided tour of Landau, together with the meeting's participants. Childcare has been organized during the 19th Cyclone Workshop (Sep. 29-Oct. 4th, 2019). The care was excellent and featured feeding the ducks, watching excavators working at the venue, walking in the nearby village, and making colorful drawings on flipcharts. Childare was offered at the 8th W2W Annual Meeting, at the Review Meeting 2023, at the W2W/TRR 181 Joint Conference in March 2023 and at the 9th and final Annual Meeting of W2W in 2023.

4. Internships
School girls are invited for internships to the W2W partner institutes to experience research in meteorology close up. For instance in Munich, a one-week internship was offered to two school girls of age 16 and 17 from 24-28 February 2020. They were supervised by different scientists at the institute, some working in the field of experimental meteorology, the others working in theoretical meteorology. They gained insight into the everyday life at the research institute by, e.g, programming, analyzing data, writing reports, and presenting results.
5. Role models
- Hella Garny (DLR) has been invited to the 3rd ECS meeting (on April 4th 2017) to talk about the delicate balance between her scientific career and her personal life. As a successful scientist with small children, she is a role model for ECS in W2W.
- W2W strives to invite reknown international female scientists as keynote speakers at the W2W Annual Meetings (more information here).
- In 2020 a comic book featuring eight illustrated portraits of inspiring female and male scientists in W2W and in other research programs has been produced and distributed. To learn more about it, click here.
- A showing of the film "Picture a Scientist" was organized for the whole W2W community between 20-23 December 2020.
